RADIO SPOT

INTRODUCTION

Communication is a process in which ideas, information or feelings are exchanged to the maximum benefit of all parties.

You are employed by a well-known advertising agency.  Your company has been hired by one of the most important Industries to create a radio spot about an unknown product or service.

Back before there were televisions and computers, there was radio. Families of the 1930s and 1940s would gather around the radio and listen to their favorite programs such as Little Orphan Annie, Amos and Andy, The Guiding Light, and The Shadow. Millions of Americans tuned in daily to their favorite programs, just as today we tune in to our favorite television shows. Radio allowed the listener to create their own images of characters and settings, a luxury that we no longer have in these days of television.

TASKS

  • Work in groups of three people.
  • First, you are going to invent a product or service.
  • After that, you have to prepare the presentation of the invention and the radio spot to the company which hired your services.

PROCESS
  • Invent a product or service to sell.
  • Think in its name.
  • Decide what format you will use to communicate the information you have found.  Be CREATIVE in your approach.
  • Search the information that will be used in the presentation.
  • Choose a slogan.
  • Choose the music.
  • Divide your duties as evenly as you can when you plan and produce your promotional product for your industry.
  •  Your group's work will be evaluated and your individual work will also be assessed.
  • Your team will make a formal presentation of your product to the client/class who will then evaluate the effectiveness of your communication.  A professional presentation will have a positive effect on the audience's impression of your work.
  •  Include pictures and a short description of most of everything.
  • Write a script with dialogues, narrator/s, sound effects,…
  • Distribute the roles and works.
  • Practice it.
  •  Record it.
